Russian Hollyday Volgograd
Before becoming Volgograd, maybe you know the name of stalin, Joseph stalin russia leaders of old, the exact name of my city is stalin city or Stalingrad, now called Volgograd's where I live ... ^ _ ^.
The main memorial monument of the 2nd world war, Mamaev Kurgan. Located on a hill, which from there on we can see the city of Volgograd and across the river Volga. Volgagrad major city in the western edge of the river Volga. A large statue, with the figure of a woman holding a sword, with a height above the Statue of Liberty in New York, and is the single highest statue in the world. Mamaev Kurgan I interpret as a call Mother Earth.
A building with a large space on walls engraved the names of soldiers who served in the Soviet war heroes of Stalingrad and earn medals.
Tsaritsa was the first name given to my city when the Russian Empire first wooden fort built here in the 16th century and is the southern border of the territory of Russia at the time. Tsaritsa also the name of a major river flowing into the Volga. Tsaritsa means the Queen, or the wife of Tsar. When the Communist authorities and everything smelled Tsar and his family are omitted, the name of the town changed to Stalingrad or Stalin City. Taken from the name of the Soviet Communist leader Joseph Stalin. After Stalin's death, the name of the town changed and now become Volgograd, according to the name of the Volga river that splits the city. Volgograd is a city about 50 KM in length along the river Volga. Volgograd is a whole new city reconstructed after melting dust in World War 2.
